Lee Roy Selmon's story combines football scholarships for his parents and a commitment to his community. The first time, he was raised by Lucious as well as Jessie Selmon on an agricultural property near Eufala within Oklahoma as the eldest of the nine children they had. Two football. He is among the three brothers that played for Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's best lineman. He was awarded two championships as well as 32-1-1 in his three seasons as the Oklahoma's starting linebacker. In his role as a National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon was awarded an award for his third season in 1975. Selmon received a bachelor's degree from the University of California in Berkeley. Lee Roy was involved in volunteer work ten hour per week during his time at college. He moved to Tampa following college. He played with the Buccaneers for nine years and played three times in the all-pro league. His business career began. He was an Account Representative for Tampa's First Florida Bank and worked on the following groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute on Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. He was no surprise that, in 1982, The Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy among the top 10 young stars across the country. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in height and weighed 256 pounds as a college player he was captain of the team in 1975. In 1993, he joined the University of South Florida's sports department as the assistant director. The College Football Hall of Fame named him in 1998. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994.
