Lee Roy Selmon's life includes football scholarship, family service and involvement in the community. First family he is the youngest of the nine children born to Lucious the Jessie and Lucious Selmon raised on a farm in Eufala, Oklahoma. In second football, he was one of three brothers who were players for Oklahoma. All three became All-America. They made the All-America team in 1973. Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the starters for one year. Lee Roy was named the most offensive lineman in the country by Outland and Lombardi Awards. During his three years as Oklahoma's starting quarterback The Sooners recorded a 32-1-1 record and captured two national titles. In 1975, the National Football Foundation named him a Scholar-Athlete for the third time in 1975. Selmon is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in education. Lee Roy was involved in voluntary work for 10 hours a week throughout his college years. After graduating, Lee Roy settled in Tampa which is where he played for nine years playing for Tampa's Buccaneers. Three times, he was named All-Pro. Then he began his business career. His first job was as an Account Relations Manager at First Florida Bank, Tampa. In the past, he worked on the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder in 1982 the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of America's most outstanding young men. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 pounds during his time playing college football. He was a captain in 1975. was on the team. team. Lee Roy joined the University of South Florida in 1993 as an assistant director of sports. In 1993, the College Football Hall of Fame named his in 1998. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame, in 1995. The Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave its Distinguished American Award for 1989 to Lucious Selmon Sr. The award ceremony was conducted by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
