Lee Roy Selmon blends the benefits of a football scholarship within his family and community service. He was the youngest son from Lucious Selmon, and Jessie Semon. They raised him on their farm in Eufala. Two, football. He is among three brothers who played for Oklahoma. The three brothers all made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy was named the top offensive lineman in United States by Outland as well as Lombardi Awards. For three seasons as a starter Oklahoma finished 32-1-1 and also won two championships at the national level. Selmon was given a second scholarship in 1975 and selected as an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon received a bachelor's diploma from the University of California at Berkeley. Lee Roy's fourth service included ten hours per week as a volunteer in college. Following graduation Lee Roy relocating to Tampa where he spent 9 years with Tampa's Buccaneers. There were three times, he was named an All-Pro. Lee Roy began his professional career. In 1988, he was an Account Relation Officer at Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also a part of the following organisations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. This is why the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated him as one of the top 10 young men across the nation. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265lbs in the time he played football at college. In 1975, he was the captain of the squad. In 1993 he was appointed as associate director at the University of South Florida. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988. He was also named to the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. The Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded its Distinguished American Award for 1989 to Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma gave it to them.
