Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's history combines the benefits of football family scholarship and social service. Selmon is the son from Lucious Selmon and Jessie Selmon. They raised him on their property in Eufala. He was also one of three siblings to represent Oklahoma in football. Three of them made All-America. The year was 1973. Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy was named the most effective offensive lineman of the national by Outland, Lombardi and the Outland Awards. In his three years as the starting line-up Oklahoma recorded a record of 32-1-1 and also won two championships at the national level. A third scholarship saw him named an National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in educational studies. Lee Roy spent ten hours a week on volunteer work in his college days. Then he settled in Tampa following his college years, playing for the Buccaneers for 9 years and played three times in the all-pro league. The beginning of his business career came. In 1988 he took on the role of account representative for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also a part of the following organizations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. So it's not surprising that in 1982 the Junior Chamber of Commerce named him as one of the United States' most outstanding young men. As a student, Lee Roy was 6-2 and was weighing a little over 256 pounds. He played for his school's team in 1975. In 1993, he joined as a director at University of South Florida as assistant director of athletics. In 1993, the College Football Hall of Fame named him in 1998. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame, in 1995. In 1989 The Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented the Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Jr. The award ceremony was conducted by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
