Lee Roy Selmon's story combines the benefits of football scholarship and volunteerism in the community. His first family is that he's the youngest out of nine kids raised by Eufala with Lucious Selmon. Two soccer. He was one of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. All three made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's best lineman. During his three years as Oklahoma's starting quarterback and Sooners' starting quarterback, they went 32-1-1 and captured two national titles. He was awarded a third scholarship in 1975, and was selected as an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon graduated with a degree from the University of California in Berkeley. Lee Roy was involved in voluntary work for 10 hours a week during his time at college. Following college, he relocated in Tampa and played for nine years with Tampa's Buccaneers. He made the All-Pro 3 times. He then began his professional career. His first job was as an Account Relations Manager at First Florida Bank, Tampa. In the past, he worked previously for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. No wonder that in 1982 the Junior Chamber of Commerce named him one of the nation's 10 outstanding young males. While a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighs a little over 256 lbs. He was captain of his college team in the year 1975. In 1993, he joined at the University of South Fla's athletic department as Director of Athletics as an associate. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame through the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame of 1994 as well as by in the Pro Football Hall of Fame of 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented its Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor who made this presentation.
