Lee Roy Selmon's story combines the football scholarship of his family and service in the local community. The first time, he was born by Lucious as well as Jessie Selmon, on an agricultural property near Eufala within Oklahoma as one of their nine children. Two, football. He was one of the three brothers that participated in the football team of Oklahoma. The three brothers were All-Americans. The year was 1973. Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the best lineman of the United States. He won two championships and the score was 32-1-1 over his three seasons as Oklahoma's starter. In 1975, he was awarded the third scholarship of his career and was recognized as the National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon received a bachelor's degree from the University of California at Berkeley. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer hours per week during his time in college. After graduation, he landed in Tampa and played for nine seasons with the Buccaneers played the all-pro 3 times, and began an entrepreneurial career. In 1988, as an account representative at First Florida Bank of Tampa and worked for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There was no doubt that, in 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy one of ten outstanding young people throughout the United States. While a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighed about 256 pounds. He coached his university team in the year 1975. In 1993, he became the associate director of the University of South Florida. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1993 by his fellow members of the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994, as well as The Pro Football Hall of Fame of 1995. In 1995, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded its Distinguished American Award for 1989 to Lucious Selmon Sr. The presentation was made by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
