Taylor
Taylor Swift may be the most unique of pop stars: an artist who was able to effortlessly bridge the gap between pop and country while sweeping the globe. Swift shed her country roots as if they were just a second skin to reveal that she was possibly the most savvy popular singer/songwriter in her generation one that could tap into the zeitgeist make it personal and just as impressively perform the reverse. These skills were evident on her early hits including the neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album in 2008's Fearless featured a singer-songwriter figuring out who she was and in the process, finding a mass audience. Fearless became hugely popular not only in America which is where the Top Ten singles Love Story, and You Belong with Me helped it to break six platinum records however, it also swept the world. It was a huge success across Canada, Australia in Australia and Canada. U.K. Swift managed to build upon her popularity with Speak Now almost two year later. Through her next three albums, Red (2012) 1989 (2004) and Reputation (2017) and Reputation, the popularity of Swift grew, and she became part of a world of pop music where it was clear that she was a part of. However, even when she reduced her style with the 2020's stripped-down sister album folklore, and Evermore she continued to be atop of the world of pop, a position that she maintained through re-recordings from her back catalog along with Midnights her chart-topping synth-heavy 2022 album.
