Lucy-Liu
Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American actor, voice actress director producer, and vocalist. An attractive and intelligent actor, she is an example to many Asian actors who want to break into Hollywood. Following a string of early appearances in various popular television series she gained fame after joining the cast of the comedy legal series Ally McBeal where she played the villainous Ling Woo. She translated her sudden recognition into roles on big screens in films including Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. The actress gave an outstanding performance as Japanese criminal lord O'RenIshii as part of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. Also, she portrayed leading roles in the failures of box office films like Rise: Blood Hunter. Then, she was able to play characters that were prominent in animation films such as Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason's character in Cashmere Mafia, a small screen movie, did not bring about the positive results. Southland was a critically acclaimed series of police dramas that had Liu playing recurring characters, helped her establish her own identity. Liu takes great care when selecting her roles in order that she is not typecast within a highly in-demand industry. Though she's proud of her heritage, she does not let that limit her imagination.
