Dolly-Parton

born on January. 19th of 1946 on the 19th of January 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn into a poverty-stricken family which would later consist of 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to overcome the difficulties of her life thanks to her expansive and imaginative imagination. Songs were being written by her before she learned to write or read. The first time she picked up a guitar was at age 8 and began performing on a Knoxville Tenn radio station at 11 years old. The same year, she recorded her first album with Gold Band Records an independent small label. She established herself in the local scene while still at high school, yet she dreamed of a bigger stage. She relocated to Nashville the day after graduating in 1964. Dumb Blonde was her first track to hit the charts for Monument Records. It was around this time that Porter Wagoner was looking for a new girl singer for his syndicated television show. Parton began her career in 1966, joined RCA Records in 1968, and then the Grand Ole Opry was founded in the year 1969. In 1974, she quit the show because of the success of her individual songs, such as Joshua Coats from Many Colors or Jolene was outstripping their joint releases. Parton wrote I Will Always love You in honor of Wagoner after the breakup. It reached no. 1. for the first time in 1974.
