Born on Jan. 19th, 1946, on the 19th of January 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn into a poverty-stricken family which would later have 12 children. Dolly Parton learned early to overcome the difficulties of her life by using her expansive and vivid imagination. Before she could compose or read the music she wrote herself, she created her own tunes. Within 8 years she had her very first guitar.
