Dolly-Parton

born on January. 19 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn into a low-income family which would later consist of 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to be free from life's hardships thanks to her expansive and imaginative imagination. Even before learning to compose or read the first song she ever composed, she was composing her own tunes. She got her first guitar when she was just 8 years old and began singing on the Knoxville Tenn radio station at the age of 11. She released her debut album that same year Gold Band Records, a small independent label. Despite being in college, she already made a name for herself on the local scene. The goal for her was to become more known. Following her graduation from highschool in 1964, she immediately moved to Nashville. Her first charting records on Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. In the year 1967, Porter Wagoner was looking for someone new to sing on the show he had syndicated to television. Parton agreed to the position in 1967 signed with RCA Records in 1968 and was a part of the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. But she resigned from the show after 1974 because her solo songs like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene were charting collaborations with them. After their split, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it reached number. 1. for the first time in 1974.
