Zoe Saldana, born June 19, 1978, was the son of Asalia Nazario along with Aridio Saldana. Her father was Dominican and her mother is Puerto Rican. Her parents raised her within Queens, New York. Her family relocated from Queens, NY and to the Dominican Republic when she was 10, and lived in the Dominican Republic for 7 years. Zoe noticed a strong desire to perform dances when being abroad. She started training in the ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy to learn ballet, along with a myriad of other dance styles.
